Some adventures don’t need a big crowd to be unforgettable—just a good trail, a few brave women, and a steaming pool tucked deep in the Utah wilderness.
Our second Alpine Swim Club adventure took us to the dreamy blue pools of Fifth Water Hot Springs, and while the group was small (just three of us!), the experience was anything but.
We hit the trail early with our usual mix of anticipation and snacks. The 5-mile out-and-back trail followed the river through Diamond Fork Canyon, winding under lush green trees, over wooden bridges, and past wildflowers just beginning to bloom. The sound of the river guided us as we hiked, along with plenty of laughs and life updates shared between deep breaths and shaded breaks.
About two miles in, the first wisps of steam rose through the trees, and just like that, the air shifted. It smelled like minerals and magic. We made it.
The hot springs were perfection. Milky turquoise water, waterfalls cascading nearby, and a peacefulness that’s hard to describe unless you’ve been there. We slipped into the pools and let the warmth soak away every sore muscle and ounce of stress. We talked, we explored the pools, and we basked in the stillness around us—just three women in a geothermal dreamworld, completely unplugged.
This wasn’t the loudest or wildest Alpine Swim Club adventure—but maybe that’s what made it so special. Sometimes the best memories are made when there’s nowhere else to be but right here, and no one else to be but yourself.
Fifth Water Highlights:
- 💦 Warm soaks and cool air in the heart of Diamond Fork
- 🥾 A peaceful riverside trail perfect for deep talks and quiet moments
- 🧖♀️ Plenty of soaking, laughing, and wrinkled fingers
- 👯♀️ A small but mighty crew who made it unforgettable
We left the trail feeling lighter, warmer, and more connected—not just to nature, but to each other. And that’s what Alpine Swim Club is really about.
Come hike, swim, and find your people. We’ll save you a spot in the next pool.
