Last Tuesday, a group of adventurous women laced up their boots, packed their dinners, and headed into the mountains for one of our favorite Local GOAT traditions: Hiking Happy Hour. This time, the trail led us to the stunning alpine beauty of Cecret Lake.
We met up in the late afternoon, the sun still warm on our faces but starting to dip behind the peaks. The energy was electric—new faces, familiar friends, and that unmistakable feeling of leaving the day behind and stepping into something refreshing.
The trail to Cecret Lake is short but sweet, winding through wildflowers, boulders, and sweeping views of Albion Basin. Along the way, we shared stories, swapped weekend plans, and maybe even spilled a few spicy secrets (pun intended). There’s something about hiking with other women that makes it feel less like exercise and more like soul work.
Once we reached the lake, we found a cozy spot near the water, popped open a few beverages, and dug into our trail dinners. With the sun setting behind the peaks and the cool alpine air settling in, it was the perfect moment to soak in the views—and each other’s company. A pop-up rain shower didn’t deter us, as we finished up our dinners in our rain jackets before returning back to our cars.
These happy hour hikes are more than just time on trail. They’re a reminder that joy can be simple: a short hike, some fresh air, and a circle of supportive women who get it.
Thanks to everyone who came out! Keep an eye out for our next Local GOAT adventure—you bring the good vibes, we’ll bring the snacks.
