One year ago, Girls Only Adventure Trips (GOAT) was just an idea — a dream of bringing women together for outdoor adventures, new friendships, and plenty of laughs. Fast forward 365 days, and that dream has grown into a thriving community of bold, curious, and adventurous women.
So of course, we had to celebrate GOAT-style: with trails, treats, and togetherness.
Friday Night: Trailgate BBQ
We kicked off the festivities with a backyard-style trailgate BBQ. Think: camp vibes but with better snacks and no mosquitoes. There were grills sizzling, coolers packed, and a soundtrack of laughter and trail stories. Women from past trips reunited, and new members quickly found themselves swapping phone numbers and planning their next hikes. Between hot dogs, chips, and a dessert table that could rival any bake sale, we toasted to a year of adventures, and the many more to come.

Saturday: The First Annual GOAT Gear & Clothing Swap
Saturday was all about gear, goodies, and good finds at our first-ever GOAT Swap.
Think of it as the outdoor lover’s version of a treasure hunt: gently used hiking gear, extra camp mugs, and even a few “why did I buy this?” impulse purchases found new homes. It wasn’t just about clearing out closets, it was about sustainability, sharing resources, and making sure no piece of adventure gear goes unloved. Bonus: nobody left empty-handed. Huge thank you to our sponsors: KUHL, SkyGOAT, Wilderdog, Grip6, Ace Camp, Facil Taqueria, Circe Care, Klean Freak, Native Campervans, Skyview Hotel, LMNT, Plunj Salt Lake, Utah Mountain Shuttle, Gnarly Nutrition, Outdoor Eats, High Camp Flasks, Farm to Summit, From Sand to Sea, Handker Bandanas, Orange Theory Holladay, Mixhers, and Barbacoa – not to mention all the friends and family of GOAT for their support.

Sunday: The Birthday Hike
We saved the best for last… our official GOAT Birthday Hike. The trail was buzzing with energy as we set off, a colorful stream of daypacks, hiking boots, and party hats (yes, party hats on the trail are 100% a GOAT thing).
Every step was a reminder of what we’ve built: a space where women can show up exactly as they are, move at their own pace, and celebrate the journey, both on the trail and in life.
At the summit, we toasted “Happy Birthday” (a little breathless from the climb) and took a group photo that perfectly captured the joy of the moment.

Here’s to Year Two
Our first birthday wasn’t just a celebration of a milestone, it was a celebration of you.
Every woman who has joined a trip, cheered on a friend, or stepped outside her comfort zone has made GOAT what it is today.
So here’s to more trails, more laughs, and more memories. Year two, we’re coming for you.
