From Solitude to Sisterhood: Carrie’s Journey
Carrie has always felt pulled toward the outdoors. Growing up with national parks as a backdrop, she internalized the deep sense of peace — and connection — that nature offers. In Voyage Utah, she shares how those early experiences shaped her vision.
Building GOAT: More Than Just Hikes
GOAT didn’t begin as a business — it began as a community. Carrie’s early hikes were informal and simple, but they evolved. Now, GOAT offers:
- Local hiking happy hours, where women can gather, hit a trail, then head to a local spot to talk and bond.
- Day trips and extended adventures, both in Utah and beyond, designed to stretch trails and friendships alike.
- A commitment to intentional curation — Carrie often keeps group sizes small (10–15 women) to encourage genuine connection.
- Education around stewardship of public lands, because each hike is also an opportunity to give back and protect the environments we love.
One of Carrie’s favorite memories? The laughter. She says there’s something magical about a group of women gathering in the forest, letting go of “adulting” for a few hours, and just being together.
What the Feature Means for GOAT — & for You
Being spotlighted in Voyage Utah is an affirmation — not just of GOAT as an organization, but of the vision behind it. It’s a reminder that:
- Stories rooted in connection and purpose do resonate.
- What starts small (a hike, a hope, a social post) can grow into something meaningful.
- Community matters, especially in spaces where many of us feel isolated or stretched thin.
For you this is an invitation. Whether you’ve been on a GOAT adventure before — or are just curious — I hope Carrie’s story inspires you to join in, explore, and connect.
Maybe your path is a hike in Utah. Maybe it’s somewhere further off. Either way — the trail is calling. 💫
