Last weekend, GOAT tackled one of the most iconic hikes in the Salt Lake City area—Mount Olympus. From the trailhead to the summit, the day was filled with laughter, stunning views, and the kind of camaraderie that only comes from sharing an adventure in the mountains.
The hike started early with crisp morning air and the scent of pine in the canyon. As we ascended, the trail challenged us with its steep switchbacks, but every step was worth it for the sweeping vistas of the Salt Lake Valley and the Wasatch Mountains. We were also greeted with a glorious, bright red sunrise! Midway, we paused to catch our breath, snap photos, and enjoy a snack while soaking in the scenery.
As we reached the saddle, about half of our group decided to rest, recharge, and enjoy lunch, while the other half scrambled on to the summit. Reaching the summit was a moment of pure exhilaration for them! They cheered, high-fived, and took in the 360-degree panorama that made the climb so rewarding. Whether it was the first time on this trail or a repeat summit, every hiker felt a shared sense of accomplishment.
Mount Olympus reminded us why we love hiking with GOAT. It’s not just about the views or the challenge; it’s about connection, laughter, and making memories together. For anyone looking for an adventure that combines effort, beauty, and friendship, this hike is a must.
