This month’s Hiking Happy Hour brought a little extra color, laughter, and celebration to the trail as we made our way to the Bear Canyon Suspension Bridge for a GOAT style Mardi Gras.
From the very start, it felt different. Beads were layered jackets, laughter echoed through the canyon, and there was a shared sense that this was more than just an after work hike. As we made our way up the trail, conversations bounced from everyday life to weekend plans to the simple joy of being outside on a winter evening. Parading over the suspension bridge together felt like the perfect symbol. Each of us showing up as we are, meeting in the middle, and creating something memorable in the process.
We kept the celebration going off the trail at Bout Time Pub & Grub, where hiking boots met bingo cards and the fun continued around the table. Between bites, drinks, and a little friendly competition, it was clear that the magic of the night was not just the hike. It was the way everyone leaned in. Staying longer. Laughing louder. Letting a simple weekday turn into something worth remembering.
This is what GOAT does best. We show up for the hike, and stay for everything that comes with it.
