Last night reminded us exactly why GOAT exists.
We gathered for another Basecamp Hiking Happy Hour, this time exploring the beautiful Pipeline Trail in Millcreek Canyon. With cooler evening temperatures, mountain views, and plenty of shade, it was the perfect setting to slow down, get outside, and meet some incredible women.
One of the best parts of the evening was welcoming six (!!) brand new GOATs to the community. Walking into a group where you don’t know anyone can feel intimidating, but that’s exactly why we created Basecamp. These hikes are designed for beginners, women who are getting back into hiking, or anyone simply looking to make new friends in a welcoming, judgment-free environment.
As we made our way along the trail, conversations flowed as naturally as the creek below. We talked about everything from favorite hikes and travel dreams to careers, pets, and weekend plans. By the time we reached the turnaround point, strangers had already become hiking buddies.
After the hike, the adventure continued with dinner at Katrina’s, where we traded hiking boots for tacos, chips, mojitos and even more conversation. There’s something special about gathering around a table after a hike. It’s where friendships deepen, future adventures get planned, and everyone leaves feeling a little more connected than when they arrived.
These evenings are about creating a space where women can show up exactly as they are, try something new, and find a community that cheers them on.
To everyone who joined us, especially our six first-time GOATs, thank you for spending your evening with us. We hope this was the first of many adventures together.
If you’ve been thinking about coming to a GOAT event but have been nervous to sign up, let this be your sign. Everyone was new once, and there’s always room for one more on the trail.
We’ll see you on the next adventure.
