When GOAT started in 2024, it was one woman in a new city, knowing almost no one, putting up a single post asking if anyone wanted to get on the trail. That was the whole plan. No roster, no membership, no grand strategy beyond “let’s find each other.”
Last night, we stood together at 10K feet, 14 women at the lake, and celebrated crossing 10,000 followers across TikTok. Saying it out loud still feels a little surreal. Ten thousand people who decided to follow along, show up, and help build something that simply did not exist here before.
Here is the truth about that number, though. 10K was never really about the number.
Every woman at the lake at 10K feet is proof of the same idea: that you can move to a place knowing no one and still find your people. Some of you came to your first hike nervous and alone. Some of you have now been on a dozen trips. Some of you found a hiking partner, a travel buddy, a new best friend, or just one weekend a month where you get to be fully yourself outside.
That is what 10,000 represents. Not a follower count. A community that answered a question a lot of women were quietly asking.
The night was everything GOAT is at its best.
While 10K got all the headlines, there is another milestone I care about even more. Over our first two years, GOAT is closing in on 200 unique women on the trail. Two hundred individual women who laced up, showed up, and gave the outdoors a shot with us.
That is the number I lose sleep over in the best way. Ten thousand people believe in what we are building. Two hundred have lived it, boots on dirt, at least once. Our whole mission is turning more of the first number into the second.
