Soaking Up Winter Magic at Fifth Water Hot Springs

February 2026

There is something special about earning your soak.

Our February Local GOAT adventure took us to Fifth Water Hot Springs, one of Utah’s most iconic winter hikes, and it delivered on every level. With a group of incredible women ready for adventure, we set out from the winter trailhead under crisp blue skies, bundled up and buzzing with excitement for what was ahead.

The trail itself was a reminder that the journey is just as meaningful as the destination. Over the course of four miles, conversations flowed easily. Some women were meeting for the first time, while others picked up right where they left off from previous hikes and adventures. We moved at a steady pace, stopping to catch our breath, adjust layers, and take in the quiet beauty of snow covered canyon walls and the sound of the river beside us. There is something about hiking together in winter that creates instant connection. It strips things down to the simple rhythm of step after step, side by side.

As we rounded the final bend and saw the rising steam in the distance, the energy shifted from steady determination to pure excitement. We had made it!

Slipping into the warm, mineral rich water felt like a reward in the truest sense. Surrounded by snow and rock, with steam rising into the cold air, it was one of those moments where everything slows down. Laughter echoed off the canyon walls. Stories were shared. Photos were taken. But more than anything, everyone was fully present.

These are the moments GOAT is built around.

It’s not about the destination. It’s about the feeling of doing something that once felt intimidating. The pride of completing a winter hike. The comfort of being surrounded by supportive, encouraging women. The realization that you are more capable than you thought.

After soaking and soaking some more, we reluctantly packed up and began the hike back, tired but energized in a completely different way. The kind of tired that comes from doing something meaningful.

By the time we reached the trailhead, 8 miles later, new friendships had formed, confidence had grown, and another shared adventure was added to the GOAT story.

Fifth Water reminded us that adventure does not have to be extreme to be transformative. Sometimes it just takes saying yes, showing up, and taking the first step.

And of course, earning your soak.
