We knew the forecast wasn’t exactly promising. But if there’s one thing GOAT women have proven time and time again, it’s that a little rain never cancelled a good adventure.. it just makes the story better.
Last weekend, we headed up to Sundance Mountain Resort for a zip line tour, and yes, it was cold. Yes, it was wet. And yes, it was absolutely, completely worth it.
The clouds rolled in early and the drizzle wasn’t letting up, but the group showed up ready. There’s something kind of magical about doing something a little wild in less-than-perfect weather. It strips away any pretense and just leaves you with the pure fun of it. Strapped into our harnesses with wind in our faces and a gray sky stretched out over the canyon, we launched.
The mist made it feel more dramatic. More cinematic. More us.
Soaring over the treetops at Sundance with the mountains disappearing into low clouds felt otherworldly, like we had the whole place to ourselves. The guides were fantastic, the views were stunning even through the fog, and the screams of delight (and maybe a little fear) echoed all the way down the canyon.
Cold fingers, damp hair, massive grins. That’s the GOAT way.
After zip lining, we were ready for something warm and hearty, and the Owl Bar at Sundance delivered. This iconic spot has serious character: mounted antlers, dim lighting, cold drinks, and a menu that hits the spot after an adrenaline-filled morning. We piled in, peeled off our rain layers, and swapped stories over lunch.
There’s something about sharing a meal after an adventure that seals the memory. It’s the debrief, the laughing about who screamed the loudest, the moment where the experience becomes a story you’ll tell again.
Bad weather trips are some of the best trips. They demand a little more grit, they deliver a little more glory, and they guarantee you’ll remember it forever. This crew showed up, leaned in, and made a cold, drizzly Saturday into something we’re still talking about.
