Some hikes humble you a little. Mill B North Overlook is one of them… and we loved every sweaty second of it.
Last night, twelve of us tackled the climb up to the overlook in Big Cottonwood Canyon, then rewarded ourselves with tacos at Facil Taqueria. It was one of those evenings that reminds you exactly why you said yes to a weeknight hike.
If we’re honest with ourselves, Mill B North is not a walk in the park. The trail gains elevation quickly and it will make your legs feel it. But here’s the thing about doing hard things with good people, nobody cares that they’re tired because everyone is tired together. There was a lot of “oh wow, that’s a lot of steps” and also a lot of just… keep going, because the group was going.
And when you get to the top it’s worth it. Every time.
Twelve amazing women attended! Midweek, after work, on a steep trail, and every single one of them showed up ready to go. The energy was high from the trailhead all the way to the overlook. That’s the GOAT magic right there. This community never fails to bring it.
After earning those elevation miles, we made our way to Facil Taqueria, and the tacos were delicious. Post-hike hunger is its own seasoning, but Facil held up on its own merits. Good food, good company, and the kind of easy dinner conversation that flows when a group of women just spent an hour climbing a mountain together.
Hiking Happy Hours happen regularly and they are always, always worth it, even when the trail is steep. Especially when the trail is steep, actually. Come find out for yourself.
Check our upcoming events and grab your spot. We’ll save you a taco.
