There’s something powerful about choosing to spend Earth Day not just appreciating the outdoors, but actively taking care of it.
Last week, our GOAT crew headed out to Alien Tower with a simple mission: hike, connect, and leave the trail better than we found it.
And we did exactly that.
From the moment we hit the trail, it was clear this wasn’t going to be a typical hike. Gloves went on, trash bags came out, and what started as a casual climb quickly turned into a full-on cleanup effort. Along the way, we collected everything from micro trash tucked into the dirt to larger items like a tire that had clearly been sitting there for far too long.
But the best part wasn’t just the impact, it was the energy of the group.
There’s something different about bonding when you’re working toward a shared purpose. Conversations flowed easier. Strangers became familiar. And every full trash bag felt like a small win we all got to celebrate together.
At the top, with sweeping views and a noticeably cleaner landscape behind us, we took a moment to pause. Not just for photos, but to actually take in what we’d just done. It’s easy to talk about loving the outdoors. It’s another thing to show up for it.
After the hike, we kept the momentum going with a well-earned dinner at Strap Tank Brewery in Lehi. Good food, cold drinks, and that kind of post-hike glow you can’t fake. The kind that comes from doing something that feels both fun and meaningful.
Earth Day doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it looks like a group of women on a trail, picking up what others left behind, laughing the whole way up, and ending the night around a table together.
We’ll call that a pretty solid way to celebrate 🌎
