This September, Girls Only Adventure Trips tackled one of Utah’s most iconic hikes—Mount Timpanogos. Standing tall at 11,752 feet, “Timp” is the second-highest peak in the Wasatch Range and a rite of passage for many local hikers. For our group, it was more than just a summit; it was a journey of endurance, connection, and celebration.
We started early, 4am, with headlamps lighting the trail as we made our way through alpine meadows and towering pines. The first rays of sunrise painted the mountains in pink and gold, and the energy in the group was electric. Step by step, we encouraged one another, shared laughs, and pushed through the tougher stretches with determination. Our mile-by-mile high five challenge gave us something to look forward to…not to mention give us another break up the mountain!
Reaching the summit was an unforgettable moment. The panoramic views stretched as far as the eye could see, with Utah Lake shimmering below and peaks rolling into the horizon. We paused at the top to take it all in—a mix of relief, pride, and pure joy. For many of us, this was our toughest hike yet, and the sense of accomplishment was written on every smiling face.
This hike was also special because it came during a milestone month for GOAT—we reached 100 unique women participants since launching. To celebrate that achievement on top of one of Utah’s most iconic mountains felt incredibly fitting. Each woman who joins us adds her own story, spirit, and strength to this growing community, and together, we’re creating something powerful.
The Mount Timpanogos adventure was a reminder of why we hike: to challenge ourselves, to connect deeply with nature, and to share those unforgettable moments with friends old and new. We came down tired and achy but full of gratitude, already dreaming of the next summit.
