On Saturday, August 1, the GOAT community gathered at Wonderland Gear Exchange in Salt Lake City for an evening dedicated to giving outdoor gear a second life, connecting with fellow adventurers, and celebrating everything we love about getting outside.
From 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., the shop was buzzing with excitement as women browsed racks of gently used outdoor clothing, scored incredible deals on hiking and camping gear, and connected with other members of the GOAT community. Whether someone came looking for their first hiking outfit or hoping to clear out gear that deserved a new adventure, there truly was something for everyone.
One of the best parts of the evening was seeing so much quality gear find new homes instead of ending up forgotten in a closet. Swapping gear is one of the easiest ways to make the outdoors more affordable, sustainable, and accessible, and that’s exactly what this event was all about.
No GOAT event would be complete without good food, and Facil Taqueria kept everyone fueled with delicious chips & dip, tostadas, and watermelon skewers, while shoppers took breaks to chat, laugh, and compare their latest finds.
We were also blown away by the generosity of our incredible sponsors and partners, who helped make the evening even more memorable with tons of free giveaways and outdoor goodies. It was so much fun watching winners leave with everything from outdoor essentials to surprise swag throughout the night. Your support helps us continue creating welcoming spaces where women can build confidence, community, and a love for adventure.
Most importantly, thank you to every woman who donated gear, attended the swap, volunteered, or simply came to support the community. Events like these remind us that GOAT is about so much more than hiking. It’s about creating a place where women feel welcome, encouraged, and inspired to get outside together.
Thank you to Wonderland Gear Exchange for hosting us and to Facil Taqueria, our sponsors, partners, and every attendee who helped make the evening such a success.
We already can’t wait for the next one. Until then, keep exploring, keep adventuring, and keep passing along the gear that helped get you there.
