Yesterday, we gathered under the big trees at Liberty Park for our Mother Nature Walk, and it turned into one of the most meaningful mornings in GOAT history. Mothers and daughters laced up together, old friends caught up mid-stride, and a whole lot of first-timers found out just how easy it is to walk right into this community.
It was also the day we crossed a milestone we’ve been dreaming about since the very beginning: 200 women have now shared the trail with GOAT.
Two hundred. Let that sink in for a second. When GOAT started in 2024, it was one woman who had just moved to Salt Lake City, knew almost no one, and put a single post out into the world hoping someone might want to go for a hike. Two years later, 200 women have said yes. Two hundred people who chose to show up, put on their shoes, and find their people.
That’s what made the Mother Nature Walk feel so right as the place to celebrate this one. There’s something full-circle about honoring the women who raised us while marking a community built entirely on women showing up for each other. Some of you brought your moms. Some of you brought your daughters. Some of you have become the kind of friends who feel like family. All of it counts.
Liberty Park gave us exactly the morning we hoped for: wide paths, easy pace, plenty of room to talk, and the kind of golden early-fall light that makes you want to slow down. No summit push, no scramble, just good company and good conversation moving at the speed of connection.
To every woman who has ever joined us, whether you were on the trail yesterday or on one of the 199 walks that got us here: thank you. You are the reason GOAT exists. This was never about numbers on a follower count. It was always about the loneliness so many of us felt, and the simple, radical idea that the cure might be as close as a Saturday morning walk with people who get it.
Here’s to the next 200. And the 200 after that.
If you haven’t walked with us yet, consider this your invitation. Our events fill up fast, so keep an eye on the calendar and grab your spot the moment something catches your eye. Find your people, find your peak. We’ll save you a place on the trail.
