Our GOAT Cowgirl Weekend took us north to Tetonia, Idaho for four days filled with adventure, laughter, great food, and the kind of memories that only happen when you gather an amazing group of women willing to say yes to something new. While Mother Nature surprised us with chilly temperatures and rainy evenings (in late June!), not even the weather could dampen our spirits.
Thursday: Scenic Roads & Campfire Glow
We kicked off the weekend by leaving Salt Lake City and taking the scenic route through Bear Lake, where we stopped for lunch and soaked in those beautiful turquoise views before continuing our journey north.
By afternoon, we arrived at our home for the weekend: cozy glamping tents at Teton Peaks Resort. After settling in, we headed to Citizen 33 Brewery for dinner before ending the evening exactly how a cowgirl weekend should, gathered around a crackling bonfire with s’mores, stories, and plenty of laughs under the stars.
Friday: Saddle Up
Friday was everything we’d been looking forward to.
We spent the morning on horseback with Dry Ridge Outfitters, riding through stunning Idaho scenery at a pace that forced us all to slow down and appreciate where we were. There’s something special about exploring the mountains from the saddle that makes you feel connected to the landscape in a completely different way.
That evening, we crossed into Jackson for dinner at the iconic Million Dollar Cowboy Bar. Between the famous saddle bar stools, live music, and western atmosphere, it was the perfect tourist stop and an unforgettable way to spend the evening.
Saturday: Rapids & Cowboy Traditions
Saturday brought even more adventure as we returned to Jackson to take on the Snake River with Dave Hansen White Water.
There were plenty of laughs, a few screams, and just enough splashes to keep everyone smiling. Whether it was your first rafting trip or your tenth, it was one of those experiences that brought the whole group together.
That evening, we embraced our inner cowgirls with a Chuckwagon Dinner at Bar T 5 Ranch. Good food, western entertainment, and a fun atmosphere made for the perfect finale to an adventure-packed day.
Sunday: One Last Meal & One Last Memory
As every great trip does, our weekend eventually came to an end.
Before heading home, we enjoyed brunch at Wydaho Roasters, sharing one last meal together before gathering for our closing ceremony in one of the most Idaho locations imaginable, standing in front of the famous potato sculptures at the Potato Drive-In.
It was the perfect place to reflect on everything we’d experienced together over the last four days.
The Best Part Wasn’t on the Itinerary
Yes, we rode horses.
Yes, we rafted white water.
Yes, we visited iconic western destinations.
But what made this weekend special wasn’t any single activity.
It was the conversations around the campfire. The encouragement during new experiences. The laughter that carried through every meal. The friendships that formed between women who, just a few days earlier, were strangers.
Even with unexpectedly cold, rainy nights, everyone leaned into the adventure. Sometimes the best memories come from the moments you never planned for.
